Munros ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Munros mobile app and website (munros.app).

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information you authorise.

Activity data: Munro summits you log, dates climbed, and optional notes or photos you add.

Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and analytics.

Location data: Only when you actively use GPS features (e.g. route tracking). We never track your location in the background.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Munros app experience
• To sync your data across devices
• To display community features (leaderboards, activity feeds) where you opt in
• To send important service updates (e.g. password resets)
• To analyse aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to improve the app

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Hosting (Supabase), analytics, and infrastructure partners who process data on our behalf
• Community features: Your display name and summit activity are visible to other users if you opt into social features
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, secure authentication tokens, and row-level security policies.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and export your data at any time from the app
• Update or correct your profile information
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Opt out of community features while keeping your personal tracking

6. Cookies

The Munros website uses minimal, essential cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

Munros is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
