Hardest Munros in Scotland
These 53 Munros are the most demanding peaks in Scotland, requiring scrambling ability, confident navigation, and serious mountain experience. They include exposed ridges, technical terrain, and routes where a slip could have serious consequences. These are not mountains for beginners.
The Cuillin Ridge on Skye dominates any list of difficult Munros — the Inaccessible Pinnacle is the only Munro requiring actual rock climbing. On the mainland, the Aonach Eagach in Glen Coe and Liathach in Torridon are notoriously exposed traverses that test even experienced mountaineers.
