About Argyll Munros
Argyll stretches from the Firth of Clyde to the Atlantic coast, and its Munros reflect that breadth — from the accessible peaks above Loch Lomond to the remote summits north of Oban. Ben Cruachan, the region's crown jewel, rises directly above Loch Awe in a horseshoe of ridges that ranks among the finest mountain days in the southern Highlands.
The character of Argyll's hills varies enormously. Ben Lui's elegant north-east corrie holds snow well into spring, while the twin peaks of Beinn a' Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich offer a more straightforward outing above Glen Strae. Several of these peaks are within easy reach of the A85, making them popular choices for day trips from the Central Belt.
Highlights: Ben Cruachan's horseshoe traverse is a classic. Ben Lui is considered one of Scotland's most beautiful mountains.
