Best Munros for Spring
Spring is the in-between season on Scottish mountains. By April, lower Munros are usually clear of snow while anything over 1,000m can hold icy patches well into May — especially on north-facing slopes. These 48 lower, less technical peaks are the smart spring choices: long enough days to enjoy them, without committing to lingering winter conditions up high.
Spring also brings the best visibility of the year and quieter paths before summer crowds. Watch for lambing restrictions on approach tracks April–May, and remember that "spring" at the car park can still be full winter at 900 metres.
