Munros Near Stirling
Stirling sits at the historic gateway between the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands, and its position gives walkers fast access to the southern Highland peaks. Ben Lomond — Scotland's most popular Munro — is under 45 minutes away via the A811. The Loch Lomond area peaks and the Arrochar Alps are all within 90 minutes.
North up the A84, the Crianlarich and Balquhidder hills open up quickly — Ben More and Stob Binnein are just over an hour's drive. The Perthshire peaks around Crieff and Comrie — including Ben Chonzie — are similarly accessible. The A873 through Aberfoyle leads to the Trossachs, a beautiful approach to several southern Munros.
More Munros are accessible as day trips from Stirling than from almost any city in Scotland. It's particularly well-suited to those working through the southern Highlands systematically, offering quick access to both the west and the Perthshire peaks.
